The .22 Long Rifle does not make shooting easier. It makes your mistakes visible.

Recoil hides sin. A big cartridge lets a shooter muscle a rifle into submission — crush the grip, mash the trigger, and the bullet still lands close enough to feel good about. The rimfire offers no such mercy. At fifty and a hundred yards the little bullet drifts on a whisper of wind, and every twitch you put into the rifle is written on the steel.

That is the whole point. Long Gong is built on the cartridge that punishes the fundamentals and rewards the patient. You learn wind because the wind is undeniable. You learn your natural point of aim because there is nowhere to hide. You learn to break a clean shot because a dirty one rings nothing.

It is also the honest cartridge because it is cheap, quiet, and legal to shoot almost anywhere. A new shooter and a grand-master stand at the same line with rifles that cost worlds apart, and the steel does not care. It only answers the shot.
